The revolutionary Galaxy AI features are now readily available on a range of devices in addition to the Galaxy S24 series, including the Galaxy S23 Ultra, S23+, S23, S23 FE, Z Fold5, Z Flip5, Tab S9 Ultra, Tab S9+ and the Tab S9. Find out how to get and make the most of these cutting-edge Galaxy AI features below.
Update your software
To get the Galaxy AI features, make sure your device's software is updated to the latest version. You may receive a pop-up on your phone prompting you to download and install the update or you can update your mobile device's software manually by following these steps:
Step 1. Go to Settings > Software update.
Step 2. Tap on Download and install.
Step 3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
How to use the Galaxy AI features
Gemini Live
Gemini is a personal AI assistant provided by Google. You can ask Gemini to organize study materials, suggest new ideas, or identify information in photos. With a simple conversation, you can make your tasks faster and more efficient.
Audio Eraser
Audio eraser is an editing tool that reduces or removes unwanted background sounds from videos, such as wind, crowd noise, and ambient noise. It preserves important sounds like voices and music while improving the overall audio quality of the video. You can use this feature to create clearer, more focused videos on your Galaxy device.
AI Select
AI Select is a Galaxy AI feature that lets you select a specific area on the screen to perform smart actions. You can edit, save, share, and extract text from the selected area, and it works with various types of content, including images, videos, and text.
Now Bar
The Now bar lets you check real-time notifications, music, Modes and Routines, and other information directly from the Lock screen. You can set which apps to display on the Now bar and control them from the Lock screen without opening the app.
Now Brief
Now brief provides a personalized briefing based on your daily schedule, offering useful content and helping you manage various tasks throughout the day.
Creative studio (Drawing assist)
Creative studio is a feature that uses AI to generate images in various styles from your own sketches, text descriptions, or photos.
Circle to Search
Circle to Search is a Google-powered feature that enables swift internet searches for information that you see on your screen without changing apps or typing out a search query. Use a simple gesture with your finger or the S Pen on images, videos or text to trigger a search.
Live Translate
The Live translate feature translates phone calls in real-time directly on your device. It will feel like having your own personal translator, making communication in different languages that bit easier.
Photo Assist
When you resize, remove, and reposition objects in images, the Generative photo editing or Photo assist feature then helps you to recreate/finish the image in the most natural way.
Chat Assist
Let the Chat/Writing assist AI quickly help you with a chat translation, your writing style, spelling or grammar. When messaging on the go, you’ll never be stuck for words.
Note Assist
Whatever you use your Notes for, the Note assist feature is tailored to enhance and simplify your thoughts, lists and reminders either via auto-formatting, summarisation and translations.
Browsing Assist
The handy Browsing assist will summarise or translate articles on a webpage, helping you save time and make browsing the internet even easier.
Transcribe Assist
Transcribe assist is available through the Voice recorder app. It records speech and creates a transcription of what was said, which can make things like taking business minutes and writing documents more convenient. A summary of a recording is also possible with this feature.
Interpreter
Communicate without being hindered by language barriers with the Interpreter app, which can be used in numerous situations for both business and personal purposes.
Instant Slow-mo
When you resize, remove, and reposition objects in images, the Generative photo editing or Photo assist feature then helps you to recreate/finish the image in the most natural way. Simply press and hold on any video in your Gallery, and it'll switch to slow motion as you're watching it.

- Instant Slow-mo isn’t available on the S23 FE.
- Functions may vary by model, software version, and region.
